OEM and Industrial

OEM projects and industrail cases represent a large and varied group of our customers. Products are from almost every conceivable market. Each customer is seeking a unique solution to providing a safe and protective case for their product during transportation. Size, weight, and components all have to be considered in reviewing the possible options that will work for the customer. Together we will discuss and determine the most effective industrial case solution to consider. Depending on load, functionality, and use, Source will present the advantages/ disadvantages of injection molding, blow molding, vacuum forming, roto molding, or traditional fabrication to best meet your protection needs and budget requirements.

In most instances, a prototype can be produced for evaluation prior to production for a nominal charge. This enables the customer to make changes or modifications if necessary. Source prides itself on establishing a partnership relationship with our customers. We enjoy presenting concepts and the process to develop a case solution with the customer. Case design is an evolving process; we are with you from Concept through Production to on time delivery.

Source has experience designing and manufacturing a wide variety of OEM products, below is a list of some of our custom products:

  • Smith & Wesson gun case
  • Mont Blanc Pen shipper
  • Pen cases
  • Oxygen tank case
  • Tile display case
  • Temperature controlled shipping case
  • Airbrush cases
A design team from Smith & Wesson Corporation approached Cases by Source requesting assistance designing and manufacturing an injection molded gun case to be used in the packaging and marketing of their extensive hand gun line. We worked with S&W marketing and packaging managers to develop a cost effective case that would accommodate their array of products. Source developed a solution – three different size cases to accommodate S&W’s needs.

Source developed renderings and then CAD drawings, submitted them to Smith & Wesson for approval and then produced a prototype case. This prototype gave S&W a working model of the final product they would receive – they approved the prototype and issued a PO for the molds. Source produced the molds and test molded the cases. Source worked with S&W to test numerous densities of foam to support and cushion their handgun product line – a 2# diecut polyester convoluted foam accommodated all the SKU variations.

Cases by Source entered a contract with S&W to produce 350,000 cases per year, having three trailers of cases available at all times for immediate delivery. This saved S&W thousands of dollars per year – they did not have to pay for materials in advance of production and eliminated inventory in their facility.

Since the inception of the initial order, we were never late on delivery and always had inventory in stock. Source is committed to our customers and will do everything in our power to ensure we delivery the highest quality products, meeting the most demanding J.I.T. schedules.
